January Newsletter

January Newsletter

Welcome to the January edition of the Moston Parish Council Newsletter. Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

This months Newsletter begins with an apology for the non publication of the December 2021 newsletter. This happened because there was no meeting in December and therefore it was decided not to publish.

January has seen the reclosure of Warmingham Lane with all its attendant problems for the residents of Tetton Lane. The Parish Council has written to Cheshire East on a number of occasions regarding the increase of traffic, on the lane, and the danger it poses to the residents. So far we have not received a suitable reply from CEC but we will continue to pursue the matter of reducing traffic and the speed limit on the lane.

The January council meeting set the budget for 2022/3 and we were able to reduce the precept payment for each household whilst managing to continue to provide the same level of service to the parish, as in previous years.

The Parish is also awaiting decisions on the adoption of Bridleway status for the path between Plant Lane and Dragon’s Lane. After a number of years awaiting a decision from CEC a request was made to The Planning Inspectorate for a Direction Decision. As a result, CEC is directed to determine the application before31st July 2022. We are also in contact with Cheshire East Highways regarding the status of the path between Oakwood Lane and Plant Lane, locally known as the Cosey, so that it, also, can become a usable path for walkers. To try and aid both decisions, the Parish Council, has offered financial aid, to CEC, to help with remedial works on the paths.

In planning matters, the Parish Council offered no objection to the proposed ground floor extension, 21/6071C, at “Waverley,” on Oakwood Lane.

In November the free hedging plants, offered to residents were distributed.

The Parish Council has also begun planning for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.

As always, we hope you find this newsletter useful. If you have any comments about the newsletter or any other parish related matters, you can contact us by email. The address is:
